Soybean multi-model evaluation and improvement - AgMIP-Soybean
The goal of the AgMIP-Soybean Team is to quantify and improve crop model predictions under different atmospheric CO2 concentration, temperature, water, and nitrogen availability, and develop adaptation strategies that ensure global soybean production levels in the face of climate change and an increasing food demand.
The AgMIP-Soybean Team was conceived in March 2018 at the 7th Global AgMIP Workshop in San Jose, Costa Rica. The team is composed of an international community of soybean crop modelers, researchers around the world that provide key experimental data to test models, and a coordinating team that helps develop standardized protocols to test models for different processes and analyzes model outputs. The coordinating team is co-led by Montse Salmeron (University of Kentucky, USA), Rafael Battisti (Universidade Federal de Goias, Brazil), and Kenneth Boote (University of Florida, USA).
The first modeling activity of the team will start in June of 2019 (Phase 1). Phase 1 is a multi-model sensitivity analysis to CO2, temperature, water, and nitrogen (CTWN). Contact us for more information and stay tuned for other coming activities!
